Big thanks to everyone that joined us at the grand opening of our new Exeter office on Friday at Heavitree Road!
The opening of our new purpose built studio on Heavitree Road in Exeter has been a huge landmark for our architecture practice. Established in early 2011 the practice has operated from a number of ad-hoc workspaces up until this time and it is a pleasure to finally have a dedicated space in the centre of Exeter that reflects our professional, personal and creative attitude to business.
There were many busy hands at the end of the week putting the finishing touches to the building ready for our opening party on Friday evening. We were joined by a selection of clients, contractors, colleagues, friends and fellow architects to celebrate the success of the project. We all enjoyed some great food from local Exeter business Dan’s American Kitchen who can be found at Exeter Street Food every week.
A great evening with friends and colleagues.
The evening gave us an opportunity to thank the many people who have supported our business in its early stages. From our first client to contractors we have worked with regularly and who have grown with the practice there were many people to thank. The success of our business is founded on good relationships and this was a perfect occasion to acknowledge and celebrate some of these ongoing relationships.
On one of the main routes into Exeter the small site and existing building had been unused for a number of years but appeared to us to be a perfect site for our architecture studio. The site is very tightly constrained with the building occupying the full extent of the site and all boundary walls being party walls. The new studio is a sensitive but contemporary addition to the streetscene which internally makes the most of every square centimetre of floor space through careful and creative design and planning.
